Who is eligible?

Only children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews of PECG San Diego Section members in good standing are eligible to apply for the scholarships.

Candidates must be a senior in high school or possess a GED certificate by the end of June 2019 and plan to enroll in a college or university for the Fall 2019 semester or quarter as a full-time undergraduate student OR be currently enrolled in a college or university as a full-time undergraduate student.

No one may receive a full scholarship ($500-$1,000) more than once in a lifetime.  We do encourage everyone to apply in case smaller scholarship awards become available.

How are the scholarships awarded?

The PECG San Diego Scholarship Committee will review all of the application packages submitted.

In addition to the candidate’s application, transcripts, resume and college acceptance letter, a personal statement including the following will be considered (1 page, typed, double spaced, size 10 font essay):

  1. An Inspirational Life Experience.
  2. Career Goals and Aspirations.
  3. Community/Volunteer and School Activities.
  4. Why are you a good candidate to receive this scholarship?

When are the scholarships awarded?

The PECG San Diego Section Scholarship Committee will go through the selection process during the months of August and September.

Scholarship award winners will be announced in September.

Winners will be formally presented with their awards at the PECG San Diego Section Annual Meeting on September 13, 2019.
